What race is best?

Right, me and Boehlke was chatting about the races in WoD and comparing them. When I say race, I mean Mage, Vampire, that sort of thing. And so we thought we would introduce others into this discussion.
So, what WoD race do you people prefer?
I prefer Mage, not just because they have awesome powers and such, but because of the potential for personal horror. Paradox is a major thing and should really weigh on a mage's mind. The very fact that a paradox makes magic harder to cast and widenes the abyss, which mages seek to close, is enough to make it a very big deal, but then comes the other effects as well.
Like summoning a fucking demon. That sucks. Hard.

I think you are right on both parts. In fact, like I did, I don't think Mool will even try to hard to make a horror. Its difficult to make those, and sometimes not worth the headache.

Do check out the rules for resisting anger rolls, and check what you
have to roll for, and tell me the ST did not leave much of that out.

...good god. Okay, I was wrong. Werewolves subcomb too easilly to Rage for them to be fun to play. Damn, Martin should have rolled for death rage many times, but never did.

I know. It is crazy. The worst part, is Anger frenzy for vamps, is only barely better...

at least vamps have more than just anger frenzy, they are more varied. werewolves are just rage. damn...

Yeah, I know. This is solely the reason I don't like Werewolf all that much, you gotta nerf it too much in order to play it enjoyably. But once, nerfed, it's quite cool I guess.

Nemo will never let me live this one down. I honestly thought werewolves had more control than that.
But having read those rules, damn. the party in my campaign should be dead, killed by a werewolf in Death Rage. Good for them I hadn't read those rules good enough.

Hahaha, while quite accurate, I still think you underestimate the worth of the game line :p

As NPCs they are valuable and fearsome, but I don't think I would want to play one. At least without a high Harmony score.
But as a NPC, werewolves are a good tool for the ST.

its the DM/ST's leash on the players. Behave or I introduce a werewolf to the campaign.

Belivable...Then it must be human.

human or mage for me, vamp as well, but I prefer mage, simply because I like power, although its not right for a WoD campaign to have too much power

For a fun-not scary one, it's perfect I guess.

When reaching 0 humanity and the beast takes over, most becomes the very beast. Whilst a selected few, maintain a shred of humanity; allowing them to continue their vampiric politics and backstabbing. Although they won't be able to confron mortals at all. They are now so beastial mortals will notice. With Obfuscate the looks can be hid, but not the way one behaves or talkes. In short terms that's it. The funny thing though is, you can do anything you want, any BAD thing you want without fearing anything but autorities

It just happens, a very very small percentage.

Yes, if that was what Nemo asked, then, I would try out the rules for the "careful predator" as they are labled.

'careful predator'...I'm not so sure I would want to play that. For me, a lot of the charm with vamps, and any WoD 'race' is the battle between the human side and the inhuman side. Take away one of them, and a lot of the appeal is lost to me.
I like all the moral questions the games rise. Perhaps I could use it in my studies...now there is an interesting thought...

I agree. But still if you are going to run a power trip chronicle, why not. Bet you can come up with all kinds of fun morbidities. Reinvent the Tzimici dicipline that lets you craft meat and bone. Fun! Creating furnitures out of living persons. Creating living human toilets with a flush button. haha. My god!

I will reformulate. Why should a vampire, which is more beast then man be allowed to played? since ordinary, a vampire is slightly more man then beast, and therfore in controll.. I would creat a reverse frenzy for that kind of person, moments, where the beast would have to roll willpower, to subdue its human part, and only for a short while, give the player the right to play ones "lost" character.
